Among many technicncs we have to tanslate from a language to the other one, the meaning is what is important, not words or literary translation, avoid repetition of ideas.
We just need to practice the translation because it is olso an art.

PRACTICE:
Translate this passage to French
Global warming is the ongoing rise of the average temperature of the Earth's climate system and has been demonstrated by direct temperature measurements and by measurements of various effects of the warming. It is a major aspect of climate change which, in addition to rising global surface temperatures, also includes its effects, such as changes in precipitation. While there have been prehistoric periods of global warming, observed changes since the mid-20th century have been unprecedented in rate and scale.

  GRAMMAR/ Reported speech

 - Definition:
Reported speech is when we tell someone what another person said. To do this, we can use direct speech or indirect speech
Direct speech: Ex. DS"I work in a bank" said my father.
IS: my father said that he worked in the bank.

REMARKS
1- the DS is always put into cotation or inverted comas.
2- In the indirect speech, we change the tenses, pronouns, adverbs.
3- when the reporting vers is in : simple presenst, present perfect and present progressive; we don't change the tenses.
